This footrest is constructed of a unique combination of durable Southern Cypress and white acrylic stain with a subtle antique finish creating an ageless country cottage look. Southern Cypress is all but indestructible. It contains an oil called cypressene a natural preservative that prevents rot and decay. Unlike pine Southern Cypress resists cracking and splitting. The footrest is finished with a Cuprinol water-based acrylic deck and rail stain that further enhances the ability of the wood to resist cracking and splitting. This finish will not crack peel or rub off onto your clothing. Each piece is hand-finished by furniture craftsmen. This unique process of staining and finishing creates the timeless cottage look. The combination of Southern Cypress acrylic outdoor stains and stainless steel fasteners means that these pieces will look even better with age.
